Ripley is an 11-year-old boy soprano with a great love for Puccini and Bach. In concerts across the Netherlands and the US, he has reached people with his vibrant tones, exuberance and soulfulness. Ripley delighted viewers during the 2019 Holland’s Got Talent competition, appearing 3 times on national TV and serving as an “ambassador” of opera to a new generation.
Ripley received honorable mentions at the 2016 and 2017 Princess Christina Concours Music competition “De Muziekwedstrijd” and 1st prize in his age category at the 2018 Maassluis Music Week competition. In 2018, he also won 2ndPrize at the Amsterdam Westerpark’s “Best of the West” competition and sang “Muzetta’s Waltz” from Puccini’s La Boheme at the European Youth Music Festival’s opening concert in Friesland.
Ripley is frequently accompanied by his father, Arnout Looyé on the piano, and likes nothing better than to share his love of opera and bring his listeners a truly unique experience.
